Acura TLX owners have complained that the 8-speed dual clutch transmission (DCT) slips on the upshift while accelerating. They also reports bumps or jerks when the vehicle comes to a stop.

Common signs of a malfunctioning torque converter include:
- High stall speeds
- Strange noises
- Dirty fluid
Engine codes P0700 and P0730 indicate a malfunction in the transmission control system. It often means the transmission in slipping which may result in the jerking of shuddering often reported by owners. Not only will the vehicle stop shifting properly, but the engine won’t run otimally resulting in decreased fuel economy and the transmission might go into full fail-safe mode and might die when the car comes to a stop. This could all be due to a faulty shift solenoid or dirty transmission fluid.
If the vehicle won’t shift into its top gear on the highway, or it mis-fires or dies when coming to a stop, there might be a problem with a defective torque converter lockup solenoid or cinverter clutch. This might result in OBD-II code P0740 or P0780
On April 23, 2015 Acura released TSB #15-021 titled Transmission Slips or Shifts Hard When Cold covering a specific VIN range of the 2015 Acura TLX. In the TSB, Acura outlines that the 8-speed dual clutch transmission (DCT) slips on the 1st of 2nd upshift while accelerating. It also acknowledges that the owner might feel a bump or jerk when the vehicle comes to a stop.
The automaker blames the problem on the powertrain control module (PCM) settings, along with the clutches in the torque converter not being properly “broken in.” To fix it, mechanics are advised to do a PCM software update, followed by clutch break-in procedure (twice).

If the vehicle unexpectedly shifts to neutral, there is an increased risk of a crash. The Fix
Acura has notified owners, and dealers will, based on the automatic transmission serial number, update the transmission software to prevent the transmission from shifting into neutral due to a faulty crimp, free of charge. The automatic transmission parking pawl may become contaminated or the park rod may become dislodged or broken. This may prevent the transmission from shifting into the Park position. The Problem
If the shift indicator displays “Park” but the park lock does not engage, the vehicle may roll away increasing the risk of a crash. The Fix
